This position is a long-term Temp position, hours are 8am-4:30pm, pay rate is $14-15/hr. depending on experience.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

◊    Conducts expectations calls with newly contracted providers and trains them on the use of the scheduling software program

◊    Ensures facility orientation sessions are scheduled in a timely manner

◊    Performs scheduling system maintenance including input of preferences and shift edits, as needed

◊    Publishes schedules via scheduling program while maintaining a focus on long term goal of 60 days advance notice for providers

◊    Fills open shifts whenever indicated in conjunction with leadership

◊    Enters approved bonuses into designated forms, if needed with appropriate documentation in order to alert payroll of extra shift pay

◊    Communicates effectively with all stakeholders to ensure coverage at all assigned facilities

◊    Assumes other duties as assigned

Job Description: The Patient Transfer Specialist serves as the primary contact for referring physicians and facilities requesting the services of Covenant Health for a continued, and often, higher level of patient care. This position is responsible for collecting appropriate clinical information and coordinating and facilitating the acceptance of patient transfers and direct admissions into Covenant Health facilities in accordance with established clinical guidelines and protocols and Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA). The Coordinator will obtain accurate patient demographic information and enter into the registration system and will also obtain verbal patient status/type admission orders from providers and enter into the Computerized Order Entry (CPOE) system, so the patient status/type is classified in the correctly in a timely manner. The Coordinator will communicate and collaborate with physicians, hospital CAOs and leadership, System and Facility administrators on call (AOC), house supervisors and capacity management staff on a routine basis to elevate and resolve issues that are barriers to patient transfer acceptance. Critical to this position is the ability to utilize critical thinking skills and judgement, multitask and initiate appropriate actions to ensure patients receive care in a timely manner. This position reports directly to the Call Center Manager.

Minimum Experience: Minimum of two (2) years in a health-related field is required.

Active Licensure Requirements: Licensed EMT, Paramedic, LPN or RN in the state of TN required

Schedule: Must be flexible to work any day of the week (including weekends); need flexibility as far as 7p – 7a; 7 days a week; ability to work mid shifts on a as needed basis (example 2pm-2am). This department is open 24 hours. This role is Temp to Hire.

Compensation: $16.00/hr with a $2.25/hr
